At the scene of the crime

Busy attorneys like three things: to eat well, to save time, and to keep their hair in order. At Curly Cutz, all three of these needs are met. While one waits for one's haircut, the appetizer and salad course are brought out. The haircut occurs during the inevitable wait for the main course, and possibly during consumption of said main course; specialized static projectors prevent hair from falling into the food, and the barbers are trained in the art of grooming a bobbing, ducking, chewing head.

After that, dessert and shampooing!

But there will be no haircuts today. Police tape blocks access to the men's bathroom and one of the tables, and also festoons the walls and windows in pretty star and swirl patterns, most likely because Gumshoe didn't want to waste the excess. As soon as you open the door, a rotund man in a dinner jacket places himself directly in your path.

"Your business here?" he asks.

"I'm an attorney."

"Do you have any identification to prove that?"
